First GRASSE, perfume Capital of the world with its international reputation for the greatest of “Noses” (perfumers). This 16C city offers a seductive charm, home to many of the world’s great perfume houses. Visit and shopping in a perfume factory with a free guide in your language.
Followed by GOURDON, a medieval village (XIIIé C) perched on a rocky spur with an impressive view of the French Riviera (4 000 feet high!).
With one extra hour or skipping one place, a nice lunch can be organized in a secluded place in Saint Paul de Vence or in Gourdon with an outstanding view of the Mediterranean Sea and the French Riviera.
Next TOURETTES S/LOUP, capital of the violet flowers, a charming medieval Provencal village with an extraordinary view of the Côte d’Azur before reaching the Loup River canyon and its appealing waterfalls. Free guided visit and shop in a traditional confectionery candy factory with its very special gourmandize!
And SAINT PAUL DE VENCE, visit the medieval hilltop village that attracts so many artists and actors. From a bastion above the ramparts, overlooking the village cemetery (where Chagall is buried), you’ll find a superb view of the Maritime Alps and the Esterel mountains to the west of Cannes. Within the village walls are a multitude of art galleries, shops with regional crafts and charming homes on side streets with beautiful flowers abound.
